Bamboo Based Activated Carbon

The Carbon-Reducing Leader

DESCRIPTION

Bamboo based activated carbon is produced from fast-growing moso bamboo through an innovative steam activation process. It forms a highly developed pore structure and large specific surface area, with adsorption capacity far exceeding that of traditional activated carbon.

The natural antibacterial and humidity-regulating functions of bamboo-based activated carbon make it widely applicable in air purification, water treatment, food production, soil improvement, and other fields. Choosing bamboo-based activated carbon is not only choosing a highly efficient adsorption material but also choosing a responsible and sustainable future.

ACarbon® Bamboo Based Activated Carbon include extruded, granular, and powdered activated carbon.

The Carbon-Reducing Leader

The lifecycle carbon footprint of bamboo-based activated carbon is negative, making it an ideal product to help companies achieve their ESG goals.

Raw Material: Renewable Natural Carbon Sink

Bamboo, as a renewable raw material, has a growth cycle of only 3 years, enabling rapid carbon cycling. Meanwhile, bamboo’s well-developed structure effectively prevents soil erosion, and its ecosystem itself is a powerful carbon sink.

Through innovative technologies such as steam activation and nitrogen protection, we are pioneers in achieving energy recycling within the activated carbon production process, realizing negative or low carbon emissions.

The high specific surface area (1000-1500 m²/g) and low bulk density (300-450 g/L) of bamboo-based activated carbon effectively reduce the amount of activated carbon required. Its high adsorption capacity (microporosity rate over 90%) grants it a long service life, thereby lowering overall carbon emissions.

Bamboo-based activated carbon can be regenerated by high-temperature heating. After regeneration, its adsorption capacity not only recovers but may even be enhanced, thus extending its service life. This reduces the need for producing new carbon and the generation of spent carbon. Spent carbon can also serve as a high-quality soil amendment, achieving resource recycling and avoiding secondary pollution.
