DESCRIPTION

ANG (Adsorbed Natural Gas) is a technology that fills a storage tank with a high specific surface area adsorbent for natural gas and that uses its huge internal surface area and abundant micropore structure to adsorb and store natural gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure (3.5-6.0 MPa). 

The biggest advantage of ANG is that the stored energy density can be obtained at low pressure (3.5-6.0 MPa, only 1/4-1/5 of CNG), which is close to that of CNG at high pressure (20 MPa).

Among the general adsorbents, activated carbon has the largest adsorption capacity for methane. ANG activated carbon should have a large specific surface area, pore size between 1-2nm, micropore volume should account for more than 85% of the total pore volume.
