Activated Carbon for Supercapacitors and Electrodes

Activated Carbon for supercapacitors and electrodes exhibits remarkable adsorbability and releases electric currents by facilitating the movement of electrons between conductors.

DESCRIPTION

ACarbon® EDLC Series Activated Carbon is specifically designed for supercapacitors and electrodes. This type of activated carbon is produced by selected high grades of coconut shell materials, using steam activation.

Such activated carbon products are mainly used in supercapacitor (also called electrostatic double-layer capacitor and electrochemical capacitor), which has the features of large specific surface area, good electrochemical performance, high capacity, etc. This kind of product has also been used in a wide range of fields such as electric vehicles, hybird vehicles, electric tools, electric toys, railway systems, power systems, etc.

The lead carbon battery combines a carbon material (C) possessing a double-layer capacitance characteristic with a sponge lead (Pb) nagative electrode to make a lead carbon dual-function composite electrode pocessing both the capacitive characteristic and the battery characteristic, and the lead carbon composite electrode is further combined with PbO2 positive electrode to match and assemble the lead carbon battery. The lead carbon battery is a mixture of an asymmetric supercapacitor and a lead-acid battery in an internal-parallel manner.

Advantages
  • Better balance than capacitance and electrode density
  • Larger specific surface area
